Weed Pot
This vase is Myrtle wood Burl 7” round 2 ½” thick. Turned on the lathe then drilled and cut to make the vase. These do not hold water they are meant for dry arrangements only. Special order ones can be done to hold water with a test tube.
This vase is Alaskan White Birch 8” tall 5” Round. This piece was turned then had the design of the mountain ash leaves carved into the side of the vase. The leaves were then wood burned for detail. The berries were added to the wood burned stems at the end. The berries are made of Chakte-kok.
This vase is Maple Burl 12” tall 8” round. This vase was turned leaving the points from the merastamatic burl stems on the top of the vase. The vase was hollowed out using a hooked tool to get under the lip of the top.
This vase is Bubinga turned and then carved to appear as if it were steamed and bent. This piece took a blue ribbon a the Fur Rendezvous exhibit at the Sullivan Arena in Anchorage, Alaska
This Acacia burlvase stood 8” high and 5” round. The vase was turned green and then let to dry and then finished. The wrinkles in the finish are due to the drying process this vase felt really cool.
This Redwood vase is 10” tall 31/2” round. This piece was turned, cut then drilled for laces. The laces are deer hide and the beads on the ends of the Laces are Amboyna burl beads.
